Undiagnosed vision problems may be the cause of some learning difficulties and/or behavioral issues. Having your child’s eyes examined early on may help improve their performance in both the classroom and in sports activities. Possible corrections include spectacles, contact lenses, vision therapy and sports goggles.
Eye problems range in severity, and many of them are easily and safely treated. Some diseases, however, are more complex and require the intervention of a specialist. We can help make the diagnosis and put together a treatment plan to solve the problem. Let us know when you schedule your appointment if you are having a specific problem needing immediate attention. We offer same-day service for urgent problems.

Over half of the information that we receive on a daily basis is visual; therefore, it is important that the eyes and visual system are efficiently working together. Dr. Toby Palm specializes in vision therapy for children, but can work with patients of all ages.
Some signs of vision problems include short attention span, re-reading or skipping lines unknowingly while reading, or tilting the head while reading. There are many more behaviors to watch for, but if you notice some of these in your child, or self, please call to schedule an exam.
If you are interested in refractive surgery options, be sure to ask. You may have been told previously that you were not a candidate for LASIK, or had been concerned about the safety of the procedure. As refractive surgery technology improves at a rapid pace, LASIK has become an even safer alternative to glasses or contact lenses for more patients.
Dr. Palm has been working with LASIK patients for many years and will be able to manage your pre and post-operative care.
